Submission Guidelines

Rules for SPARX Program Entry

SPARX provides participating companies with dedicated product visibility, professional evaluation, and
the opportunity to earn recognized industry validation. It connects qualified products with media,
buyers, and engaged enthusiasts.

Eligibility & Entry
  1. Products must be released within the last eighteen (18) months or be market-ready within sixty (60) days. 
  2. Each product may be entered into one category only. 
  3. Updated products must demonstrate at least a 50% meaningful change. 
  4. Exhibiting vendors pay $100 per product. Non-attending vendors pay $1,000 per product. 
  5. All entries must provide a physical product for the SPARX Showcase.
Marketing & Media
Entrants grant permission for product photography and promotion. Intellectual property remains with the entrant.
Judging Criteria

Products are judged on a 1–5 scale using weighted criteria: Innovation & Advancement (20%), Design & Execution Quality (20%), Problem Solving & Use-Case Value (20%), Market Readiness (15%), Presentation & Communication (15%), Cool Factor/Industry Appeal (10%).

Tie-Breakers

Ties are resolved by higher Innovation score, then Market Readiness, then Problem Solving, followed by a judge vote if necessary.

Ethics & Conflicts

Judges must disclose conflicts of interest and recuse themselves from scoring affected products.

AUthority & Updates

SPARX administration retains final authority. Rules may be updated annually.

SPARX Program Schedule

Product Entry Deadline

Wed. 18th February 2026, 12AM

Products must be submitted no later than midnight on February 18th in order to participate

PRODUCT DROP-OFF

Tues. 24th February 2026, 11AM - 4PM

Entries may be dropped off, in-person, to the Mountain American Expo Center Classroom 200D, or mailed to 194 W Hidden Acres Lane, Erda, Utah 84074. If packages are mailed they MUST arrive by Monday, February 23rd.

JUDGING BEGINS

Wed. 25th February 2026

Judges evaluate products in the SPARX Showcase. Products begin being highlighted on social media.

FINAL JUDGING

THU. 26th February 2026

Optional finalist clarification sessions (if requested by judges) Finalists showcased on social media channels. Final scoring and determination of winners.

Sparx Awards Presentation & Trail Hero Dinner

THU. 26th February 2026, 7PM - 9PM

Two (2) dinner tickets included with SPARX entry – Additional tickets available for purchase. Dinner will take place TBA

SPARX Public Viewing

FRI. 27th - SAT. 28th February, 2026

Showcases are open to public viewing – Mountain America Expo Center, rooms 200 B-D

Presentation of Winners at Slorex Main Stage

SAT. 28th February, 2026 - 10:00am

Winners will be recognized on the main stage at the Salt Lake Off-Road & Outdoor Expo. Winners are each allotted two free guest passes to attend the awards presentation.

SPARX Product Pick-up

SAT. 28th February, 2026 - Evening
Product pickup from SPARX Showcase after show close. Product shipped in will be shipped back according to arranged details.
